Made to be remembered.
Crafted By Hand.
Every pattern tells a story.
In our workshops in Kandy and Galle, batik is never rushed. Wax is drawn entirely freehand onto pure unbleached fabric using a heated copper tjanting pen, allowing each motif to carry the subtle signature of the artisan.
As the molten wax cools and sets, intricate micro-fractures develop organically across the cloth. Cold immersion into our living botanical dye vats allows rich mineral and leaf pigments to seep through these fractures, producing the singular, authentic crackle signature of genuine Sri Lankan batik.
Each length of cloth passes through eleven pairs of hands across eleven days of waxing, vat dipping, sun drying and dew washing. No machines. No printing. Simply timeless human artistry.
How Batik Is Made
Four stages of dedication. From freehand motif to the final boil-out that reveals the signature crackle.
Design
Freehand motif composition inspired by Sri Lankan flora, rainforest ferns, and ancient mural archives.
Wax
Liquid beeswax is applied using copper tjanting pens to preserve the areas destined to remain light.
Dye
Cloth is cold-dipped in living botanical vats of indigo, madder root and cutch bark, then dried in the shade.
Finish
Wax is boiled out in mountain water, liberating the crackle matrix and setting the permanent botanical tones.

BATIK,
REIMAGINED.
Modern silhouettes. Timeless craft. We free Sri Lankan batik from old-fashioned souvenir tropes, redefining it into internationally revered, contemporary luxury fashion.
“The crackle detail is far finer in person than the photographs suggest. I wore it to a wedding and was asked three times where it came from.”
